Stainless Steel Fabrications
Stainless steel is a great choice for your fabrications. Stainless steel has great properties benefits these include:
- Stainless steel has great welding properties and can be formed fairly easily.
- It can be used to fabricate a variety of products such as handrails, railings, gates, food or drink storage tanks, marine parts, kitchen worktops and racking.
- Stainless Steel has great corrosion resistance dew to its high chromium
- The ease of cleaning also makes Stainless steel a great choice
- Stainless Steel has great toughness properties even in very low temperatures.
There are many different grades of Stainless steel that are used today the most common ones are 304, 316 and 317 these have the highest resistance to corrosion. 304 grade of Stainless steel is what most of our stainless steel fabrications are made from 304 grade is a good choice and is the cheapest stainless steel to purchase. 316 grade Stainless Steel is what we use for all our marine Stainless Steel fabrications as it has an element called molybdenum in which toughens the stainless steel and increases the corrosion resistance. The harsh environment of the sea and salt water makes 316 grade the only option for our marine fabrications. 317 grade Stainless Steel is used mainly in the chemical industry where the stainless steel comes into contact with very corrosive chemicals such as hydrochloric acid. Here at Holland Welding Fabricators we rarely do stainless steel fabrications from 317 grade stainless steel but we are always able to suit your specific requirements. Most of the Stainless Steel Fabrications we create are done with tig welding this gives us great control of the weld pool and allows us to weld extremely carefully and accurately. We have found with our years of experience of Stainless steel welding that the easiest way to visually see if the welding was done at the right amount of amps it to look at the weld a see if the weld has a yellow/gold rainbow colour. This shows us that the weld was done with just the right amount of amps. Here at Holland Welding Fabricators we are able to polish your Stainless Steel Fabrications to a very high standard. We use pickling paste to take the dis colouration out of the weld then we use scotch bright to clean back the weld. After this process has been completed we choose the specific grade of sand paper for our polisher to achieve the finish our customer requires. We are able to achieve many different finishes such as polished, mirror polished, bushed, blasted.
